There is no mistake you read it right before the rise of this global pandemic the most common way to buy things online was to order the product you want and then pay when you actually receive the product. This was done to boost the confidence of the user in online shopping and it worked online shopping was steadily on the rise. However with the pandemic, the companies face a new problem, people still want to shop online from the safety and comfort of their house but they also want to use COD (cash of delivery) but it is risky because of physical touch during cash handover.

Finally, on Monday Flipkart, the homegrown e-commerce platform has announced its solution to the problem. Flipkart’s solution was quite simple and strokes of genius. Flipkart said that they will by shipping their products with a QR code. This QR code will be present on the packaging just like the bill so that it cant be damaged during transportation. Once the package is delivered to the customer they can use any number of payment apps to pay the price of the product. This is a great solution by Flipkart as they used the things which the common consumer is already aware of. With the rise of online payment, almost all of the users have some kind of app on their smartphone and because most people are already using these apps for payment they are fully aware of how the system of QR  codes work.

With this method, the user will have even more choice of making payment. On an overview this seems like a simple step to solve a simple problem but if we dig deeper than we can find that this one solution will help Flipkart solve few other problems for both the company and the customer. Let’s have a look at them.
