If you are a seller on the Amazon platform then this article has some bad news for you. Amazon has recently announced that it is going to increase the logistics fee, commission in select categories. The fee for providing logistics service is increased at least by 5%. These new changes are applied from 1st of September 2021. Amazon informed their seller by showing this news in seller central. This fee will be calculated based on two factors.
- Distance
- Weight
Reason for ceased prices.
The main reason for increased prices is because of the higher prices of both petrol and diesel. These increased prices of the fuels have made it more costly for amazon to deliver the packages to the customers.
Before these new and increased prices amazon charges 58 Rs from a premium seller in the STEP dashboard to deliver the 500mg product anywhere in the country. The price for delivering a 500mg product from a premium seller in the same region was 36.50 Rs.
After these policies, the revised prices for delivering a 500mg product from a premium seller is 60 Rs and the price of delivering a 500mg product within the same region is 38.50 Rs.
It should be noted that the increased price will depend on the category in which you sell, so you need to check about your category to get an accurate idea of the increased cost. Amazon has made changes to a total of 82 categories. Here is a list of some categories in which they have made changes.
- Earphones
- Headsets and headphones
- Toys
- Beauty products
It should be noted that there are some categories in which there is no change. So, you need to see whether or not you are affected by this or not. This is not the only thing that was changed with this new update. Amazon has also made changes in the closing fee as well. Any product which is shipped from the Amazon fulfilment centre and is under 250 Rs or below will have to give less closing fee. This decision was taken because the company wants sellers to use fulfilment by Amazon or (FBA)
