What is Amazon Health Rating (AHR) and why you should care about it.

It’s been over one and half year in the fight with covid 19, and this has made us realise the importance of our health. There is no better time to talk about the health of your Amazon account. Like anything else your amazon account also needs proper care from you to keep performing at its peak. If you neglect your amazon account, then not only the performance of your account will go down but you will also incur many penalties ranging from minor such as asking you to provide (plan of action) POA to major like suspension of your Amazon account. Thus you should pay extra attention to the health of your Amazon account. So that now you are aware of why you should take care of your Amazon account health. Let’s get started. 

What is Amazon Health Rating?

Your Account Health Rating (AHR) is a new feature implemented by amazon and the purpose of this feature is to help the seller maintain their account health with more ease. With the help of (AHR) sellers can more easily understand what is causing the problem in your account and solve them as soon as possible. The (AHR) take many things into consideration such as

  • The number of unresolved policy violations on your account at any given time 
  • The relative severity of those violations
  • The extent to which you positively impact the customer experience via your selling activities.

It should be noted that all of the amazon policies are not reflected in the (AHR). So every seller should check their account health page to make sure that every policy violations is addressed.

How to improve Amazon Health Rating?

Now let’s assume that your amazon account has received some policy restriction and your AHR has gone down what can you do about it. There are two methods by which you can try to remove the violation.

Method number 1  

In this method, you have to appeal for the policy violations to be removed. You should use this method if the policy violation is by mistake and you have done nothing wrong. When you appeal to amazon you should be very clear in your mail and point out why you think the policy violation was a mistake. 

Method number 2

You should use this method when the policy violation is right in its place and the mistake is on your part. If this is the case with you, then you should find out what is the thing which is causing the policy violation. Once you have figured that out you need to make edits and make sure that the new edits are not in policy violation. Once you have edited the thing which is causing the issue or posted an appeal to Amazon. It would take 24 to 48 Hr. to update it in you (AHR) So don’t panic if your (AHR) shows that there is a policy violation even after you have resolved the issue. 

Note: when you receive a policy violation you have to take steps to remove it. Ignoring the said policy violation might cost you your account. Closing or deleting the affected listing will not cause the issue to be automatically resolved. The issue will persist until and unless you take steps to solve the problem. Most people just delete the thing which is causing the issue hoping that they don’t have to solve the problem. If you don’t want your account to be deleted, then don’t be that guy. Always resolve the issue.

Few more things you should know about the removal of the violations from your account. When you appeal to amazon for the removal it does not mean that the violation will be removed. The violation will only be removed when amazon confirms that the enforcement action was taken by mistake. If Amazon does not confirm that enforcement action was taken by mistake, then it means that policy violation is still on your account, and either you have to appeal again or edit the thing which is causing the policy violation. Simply appealing to amazon for the removal of policy violation does not mean that policy violation is removed. 

If your account has received an intellectual property complaint, then it can only be removed when the rightful owner retracts their complaint.

Account deactivation

For most sellers account deactivation is the cause of having bad account health because of multiple policy violations however, this is not the only cause for the account deactivation. Here are some of the other reasons which could lead to the deactivation of your amazon seller account. 



  • Evidence of non-compliance with our contractual terms, local laws, regulations, tax requirements. 
  • Activity that is otherwise illegal, fraudulent
  • Puts customers at risk

 

Even if your Amazon seller account has good (AHR) but you are found to be indulged in the above-mentioned activities then amazon will deactivate your account. So you should also keep an eye and make sure that you do not indulge in the wrong activities.
